Now that my daughter is back in school we had to get her a new lunchbox. Her old Hello Kitty one was getting nasty from all the spilled milk and food. The new lunch box is pretty nice. It has a liner that is harder so the box won’t get smashed. A draw back to it is that you can’t fit as much stuff in there, especially with her thermos. The boxes we have for her sandwiches just don’t quite fit in there nicely, so I decided instead of getting her a new lunchbox I would make some lunch/snack bags that are reusable (instead of the throw-away baggies). These are going to fit a lot better. The only thing I’m worried about now is that her thermos might smash her sandwich. I guess we will have to wait and find out.
I used some laminated cotton I got from Oilcloth Addict. It’s not her oilcloth because that isn’t food safe. I went with two different fabrics. The first one is from Tula Pink’s Birds and Bees line. The other is from Parson Gray. They were both really easy to work with. I think these sewed up, from start to finish, in about an hour and a half.
