It’s finally done! Hooray! I really like the way the purse turned out. The fabrics are bright and lively. What a change from my Ghastlies bag, huh? Don’t get me wrong, I love my Ghastlies bag, but this is bright and cheery and I think it was time for a new bag. The pattern I used was the Super Tote pattern from Anna over at Noodlehead.
I used Tula Pink’s Birds and Bees line. I got a bunch of fat quarters and torn into them. I used a natural color linen for the gussets, handles and the interior lining. I made an extra external pocket for my iPad. The other external pocket will hold my keys and my cell phone so I can reach them easier (I’m always losing my keys at the bottom of my bag).
I was thinking that the pockets on the inside of the bag were going to get in the way so I tightened them up so they would fit a bit more snugly against the sides. One last improv thing I did was on the handles I made sure to sew the handles all the way to the top so when they were floppy they wouldn’t make the top of the bag droopy too.
What do you think?
