This weekend I wasn’t expecting to do much at all in regards to sewing, but I ended up sewing up some cute little burp cloths for a friend of mine that just her baby right before the Fourth. By the way, she is soooo cute and tiny! I can’t believe that my daughter was that small at one point. I got this material a while ago at Joann’s since I knew she liked owls. I had five cloth diapers to work with so I used two different kinds of owl material, and some leftover Out to Sea by Sarah Jane that I used on her quilt. It didn’t quite fit all the way, but it’s mostly white and it didn’t look horrible. Here are some close ups.
I love to make these for baby showers because they are so quick to make up. Plus, it’s always great to get some handmade things at baby showers. I didn’t want to do any quilting on these because I wanted to material to be front and center, but I’ll tell her if it becomes a pain and they are too loose then to maybe do a few loop do loos or something. I think they turned out pretty cute. What do you think?
