I think I really took my last post to heart. I DID need a good kick in the pants. I actually got a decent (yes, only decent) amount of progress done on the quilt top this weekend. It has mostly been from today, but I’m okay with that.
I ran into a bit of a snag when I sat down to start sewing. Since I had left out my pieces on my work table I realized that I was missing a piece. I think the ceiling fan blew it away, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. :O I even tried to pay my daughter if she would help me look, which only lasted about two minutes. I was in a sort of frantic state of mind. I only bought just enough to make the top, but I did have some leftover pieces that I could fit in to take the place of the messed up row. The thing that sucks now is that the one piece of fabric that was lost was one of the darker rows. Sad… But all is not lost, the replacement is still cute.
I ended up working for about four hours on the top and I think I’m about 60-65% of the way there. I always think making the top is the hardest part, that is, if the backing into too intricate. At this point, I am working on squaring off all of the smaller pieces. Once those are all done, all I will have to do is sew them together to make rows and then those rows will turn into the top. It’s getting close! I only have about three weeks until the baby shower, so that is motivation for me.
What about you? Have you made at least decent progress on a project this weekend, and if so, what did you do?
