This year I knew was going to be hard for me because I really don’t have any budget for fabric this year, so digging into to my stash was going to be the best way to actually make something. After looking at my goals of what I wanted to accomplish this year, I have decided to change my mind (which I think is okay).
These were my goals for 2013:
Finish quilt for family in Alaskadone!
- NEW – Need to make a baby quilt for a friend
- NEW – Make another Washi Dress or Tunic
- Super Mario quilt (sooooo excited for this one)
- New purse, using my Tula Pink Birds & Bees fabric
Make some new totes for the grocery storeNot going to do this, I already have a ton. Of course, if for some reason a bunch blow away in the wind, then I will make some. Make some pajama pants for JJI just don’t think I’m actually going to do this Go through my stash and see what kind of stuff I can makeThis will go hand and hand with the rest of the list
- Technique Challenge: I want to sew with knits. Maybe start out with some shorts and then graduate to a dress. We will see how the first project goes.
So, one of the new things that I have added is I need to make a new baby quilt for a friend. I’m actually really excited for this since it involves spending some money (has to come from my weekly lunch money, but it’s totally worth it), and buying fabric. Both are awesome. I just bought the fabric online and I’m waiting for it to come in the mail. I can’t really say much more or it might give something away, not that I think she would ever read this. 🙂
The other one is the new Washi tunic for myself. I made a Washi dress for myself last year and I really like it, but I think I want one now with more spring-y colors and maybe a lighter material. The main challenge is to make it with the fabrics from my stash. If I make the tunic version it might be a bit easier because I won’t need as much material. Wish me luck on that.
The rest of the changes are just from me not feeling like they were worth being a goal. I still really want to work with knits, but I’m scared, so it’s still on the bottom of the list.
What about you? Have you re-evaluated your goals for 2013, or even crossed any of them off because they weren’t as worthy as you thought?
