Well, now that the quilt for the in-laws is done all I have to do is ship it out. Yay! Now on to the fun quilt! I have been wanting to do the Super Mario Bros quilt from Cut to Pieces for a while now, but I don’t like to start new projects when I have one to complete. I guess that is a good thing because then I don’t have a bunch of WIPs looming over me.
Since I have been waiting for so long (at least it feels like it), I have been collecting everything I need for the new quilt. I already have the prescribed fabrics here, and I got a really pretty gray for the backing. It’s going to be interesting to have an all solid quilt. Hopefully the quilting with help to add some texture into it. That is the last problem I have, I don’t have any idea on how I’m going to quilt it. I know that isn’t a big deal for right now, but sometimes I like to have all my ducks in row before I start. I’ve been thinking of outlining of each character, then fill in the outsides with some kind of texture. I’ll have to keep looking since I’m not sold on that idea yet. Does anyone have any ideas?
Today is the last day of Spring Break for us over here, and it’s hard to think we have to go back to work and school tomorrow. While I do like my job, it’s hard to have to get back to waking up early and not being able to hang out at home with my daughter all day. I hope everyone has a great week and if today is your last day of Spring Break too, then I know your pain. 🙂
