Hello to 2013! It’s been a while since I have posted. Too much has gone on in the past two months for me to keep up. We have moved to a new house, had in-laws in town, gone on vacation for a few weeks, Thanksgiving, then Christmas and New Years. Whew! Just looking back at all of that explains why I feel so tired. 🙂 But it’s good to be back to work and a regular schedule.
My husband and I have started going to Tae Kwon Do classes and I gotta say, I’m really liking it so far. My daughter has already been going for about six months, and it looked like a lot of fun. Plus, I figured I needed to get my butt off of the seat and do something productive. So far, so good.
I have started working on the quilt for my in-laws in Alaska. I think it’s turning out really well. I’m still working on not stretching out the fabric when I iron it, but it’s getting better, and I think it has helped with my angled corners lining up better. I will take some photos when I get home.
I have more than half of the top done. I’m using Amy Gibson’s Perfect Prism quilt pattern and so far it’s been really easy. It’s mainly a bunch of Half Square Triangles (HSTs). Her pattern calls for using a charm pack, but instead I’m using a layer cake because I wanted an adult sized quilt instead of baby sized one. I’m using some nice linen for the inner pieces, but I will need to look up which layer cake I bought for the colored pieces.
I hope everyone had a great Holiday! I’d love to hear of any projects you are working on, or finished for the end of the year. 🙂
