Normally I usually make purses and bags for myself or for my daughter, but when a special friend at work told me she was pregnant I knew exactly what I was going to make for her. Here is a bit of backstory. A few years ago we were kind of fed up with what we were doing and started planning a bit for making custom bags and selling. She was going to design the fabric, and I would design the patterns. Well, to make a long story short, we didn’t end up doing it, but I still think about it every day! No jokes here. I know a lot of people do it, but it’s a lot of work doing that and having a full time job.
Anyways, since we had talked about the whole purse/bag thing it only made sense that I would make one for her. I used the Madeline bag pattern from Clover & Violet. I love these ladies. They make the cutest things. They were also one of the first blogs that I started following too.
The fabric I used is by none other than the fabulous Tula Pink. I used her Prince Charming collection for everything. It’s just so whimsical to me. The illustrations are awesome.
I felt really good when I brought it to the baby shower. It was the only thing that was handmade, and everyone was ooohing and aahing over it. Yay!
