It’s no secret to my friends that I LOVE colors. Lots of colors together make me very happy. Especially when they are in order like a rainbow. Ahhh. That’s the best isn’t it? Another thing I love is fabric. So naturally, when I find the two things together, I go a bit crazy. A new fabric line came out that I was crazy for. The colors, pattern, everything about it was awesome. I figured to myself….Self, I need a new bag with this awesome new fabric. It just so happens that I was going to make a new bag out of the Amy Butler Spice Market Tote pattern that I picked up. It just seemed to go hand in hand.
I set to work. I cut up my fabrics. I even went out and bought some plastic to put in the bottom of the bag to make it sturdy. Everything was ready. I forgot to mention that I had decided to do the wider version of this pattern. Had I done it the way it was done in the photo it probably would have turned out better.
So, every once in a while after you finish a project you realize…man, this did not turn out the way I was hoping. It’s sad, but not everything can be super awesome. 🙂

I think this bag could have been better. One of the requirements that I have when making bags or purses for myself is that since I carry my iPad around with me everywhere I go, the purse has to be big enough for it. I think I made the depth too much so the sides were collapsing and it made the iPad almost lay down in it. Awkward. I ended up giving this one away. Luckily for me I bought enough of the fabrics that I might try it again. At least I learned from it.
