Even though this says it’s #2 and you can’t find the first one, don’t worry. I haven’t lost my mind yet. I just can’t find the images for that bag I made. It was awesome too. Both bags were made out of Anna Maria Horner fabric. This one is from the Innocent Crush line, Woodcut Golden and Bubble Burst. The pattern for this bag I got from Tanya Whelan’s new book: Sew What You Love. There are a bunch of really cute things in there that I still want to make.
In my opinion, the hardest part of making this bag was putting the handles in. Usually I follow patterns pretty closely, but for this one I used fusible fleece for the handles. It just made the handles really bulky for trying to fit properly.
For the bags I make I usually make them big enough to fit my iPad, but I always make a pocket that will fit my cell phone so I can grab it easier instead of rummaging through the bottom. These pockets are quite nice and can actually hold quite a bit of stuff.
In case you want to know, the first AMH bag I made was with Good Folks, Fortune – AH26 Chocolate, for the body of the bag and I actually found a cool looking bright pink batik for the handles and the inside of the bag. I used Amy Butler’s Birdie Sling for the bag pattern. Unfortunately I wore the handle out on that one and I had to give it up. I LOVED this bag!!
