When I was at work last year my boss announced that his wife was going to have their first baby. Of course I was excited for them. Who doesn’t love little baby toes and noses and all the cute noises they make. But, I was also excited because I knew right away I had to make something cute. Luckily, they already knew they were having a boy when they announced, so I didn’t have to wait if I saw some cute fabric.
I decided to do something similar to what I had done for my other friends since I knew I could make them even better this time around. I made the little baby blanket and matching burp cloths. I actually really liked them and had a hard time giving them up. 🙂 The blanket had a pretty deep blue dot minky on the back so it’s nice and soft for the baby.
This time around I was much more careful crafting the burp cloths and changed it up a bit. I cut and ironed the fabric, but this time I didn’t use as much in case the fabric wasn’t as absorbent. I picked out the cutest dinosaurs and lined them up with the center piece and gave the raggedy ends a prettier look.

I also made a custom tie for the burp cloth bundle. I thought it was a nice touch. I definitely think both the blanket and the burp cloths came out much better this time around.
