Some friends of ours were finally having their first kid, and I was so excited for them. We actually don’t have a lot of friends that also have kids so when my husband and I found out they were going to have a baby it totally made my week. I immediately knew that I had to make them something hand made. I ended up making a receiving blanket with burp cloths that had matching fabric.
The blanket has an adorable animal print on front, and I found some minky for the back that matched the color of the monkey. I did a bit of quilting to keep it together and then did some edge stitching around the edges. Super easy and I put it together in about an hour. The burp cloths were easy too. I just measured the width and how long I wanted it and then cut out some varying heights of the matching fabrics in strips. I only ironed them and tucked the edges under.
The only bad thing was that I didn’t iron out the burp rags first before I put the fabric on. But I guess it doesn’t really matter that much when they get spit up on them. haha
